Having fun is part of the culture at KMC Long Island. It’s a wonderful way to practice cherishing others and fosters a harmonious sangha community. To that end, KMC-LI and its branches gather for holiday parties in the months of November and December. The annual Garden Party in the backyard of the Huntington center, usually scheduled near Venerable Geshe-la’s birthday (June 4), is a fan favorite because it happens as the weather starts warming up on Long Island and because the afternoon features games, water balloons, face painting, art projects, entertainers, a veggie barbecue, and ice cream sundaes!

In the past, KMC-LI has hosted bowling nights, walks for world peace, talent shows, lip-syncing contests, skits, Friday night World Peace Cafe sessions, silent auctions, musical acts, dancing, birthday parties, Halloween costume parades, pumpkin carving, pool parties, and Thanksgiving Day dinners.

There is no shortage of fun at our center and branches and everyone is welcome to participate!
